SSO integrates with a product called BPoint. This product will allow payment within the selection process. It is available from two financial institutions - Commonwealth Bank, and BankWest.

Things to consider

What this integration allows:

  • An extract of all payments made using BPoint through SSO - more information can be found in Payment Reconciliation for Integrated BPoint
  • A minimum amount payable through this facility - either a percentage of the total amount payable or a fixed amount of your choice
  • Prevention of overpayment - only allows payment up to the total cost associated with the selections made

What you need to be mindful of:

  • The financial institution may charge fees for a BPoint subscription - this is separate to the fees charged by CountryNet
  • Training is required to use BPoint, and you will need to contact your financial institution to arrange this
  • SSO can only display information supplied by the financial institution at the time of transaction
  • If information is missing in SSO or in dispute, it will be your responsibility to obtain the information directly from the financial institution
  • Minimum payment amounts for specific selections (such as specialist courses) can not be set - it will work as either the fixed amount, or the percentage of the total cost
  • The minimum payment will apply to all students in all year levels, but it can be changed by contacting our Support Team
  • You should add custom 'customer reference' fields which will allow quickly identify payments (like a free text fields to enter the student name and year level) as the student name and code will not display on your BPoint statement - again, you should contact the financial institution to set these up, for the CRN2 and CRN3 fields

What you'll need:
Once you have set up a BPoint subscription with one of the two financial institutions and you have been trained by said financial institution (including setting up the CRN2 and CRN3 fields, the following information must be provided to our Support Team (which should relate to the specific profile set up within your BPoint page for SSO). Your financial institution will be able to point you in the right direction for this.

  1. The financial institute you have the service provisioned with
  2. Merchant Number
  3. Short Name
  4. User Name
  5. Password
  6. Biller Code

How it appears in the Selection Process

The Your Selections window appears on the right side of the page on a desktop, or by clicking 'Answers' in the top right of a mobile device. Once BPoint has been integrated by our Support Team, a 'BPoint' button will replace the 'Generate Payment Report' button.

You can choose to only make this option available when the student is compliant with all selection criteria - do this in Settings > BPoint > Only create BPoint when selections are valid? - Yes
Once the button is clicked, a modal will appear with the details that will be passed through to SSO. By default, the amount to be be paid will be the total payable for all of the selections the student has.

The 'How much you're paying now' must have an amount within the acceptable range for the 'Proceed to BPoint' button will be available to click. If too little or too much is entered, error messages will appear until this is corrected.

Once Proceed to BPoint is clicked, it will pass the user through to the BPoint product to make payment. The BPoint screens can have some basic customisation made to them, but will flow like the samples below.
Set Up CRN2 and CRN 3 fields with the BPoint provider
We strongly recommend adding CRN2 and CRN3 fields that allow free text input, as this will save your finance team a lot of trouble when reconciling the BPoint statement.
You should discuss how to set these up with the financial institution. In the example below, we've labelled these fields as 'Student Name' and 'Year Level'.

The user needs to fill in any fields that aren't populated already, then click one of the available icons shown at the bottom:

On the next page, the credit card details should be entered, then Proceed needs to be clicked:

The user will then be returned to SSO. The details of the transaction will then be displayed at the top of the page. The user should record the details for their own reference, if required, at this point. Here is a sample of a successful payment:

As long as student access for the year level remains open (even if it is 'View Only'), BPoint will remain available as normal. The user can return to the BPoint button to make any additional payments up to the total cost for their selections. Previous payments will be displayed:

A list of the payments can be viewed by staff with Co-Ordinator access can be found at Fees - What students need to pay, and BPoint reconciliation.
