Making Changes After a Roll is Marked


Once a roll has been marked, the status of a student will change from 'Unknown' to 'Present' or Absent'.

Depending on the permissions of the staff member marking the roll, individual adjustments can be made once the initial role marking has been saved.

If the student was marked as present, and they are absent for the whole period.

If the student was marked as absent, but they are present for the full period.

If the student is away from regular classes, but at a school-approved event which has not yet been recorded.

Reason for approval

If the student was not present at the beginning of the period, but arrived after the roll was marked initially

The date/time of arrival, and the reason

If the student was present at the beginning of the period but left early from the roll marking period.

Recalculate Attendance

Where there have been changes like this, administrative staff should consider performing a 'Recalculate Attendance' to factor in amendments that have been made to the original marking.

Doing this will update calculations such as students' attendance percentages, and unknown absence notifications.
