Creating and Editing System Codes
Educonnex allows for various codes to be set up according to individual school needs. These codes can be added to in the System Codes section.
To access system codes:
Go to Menu > Administration > System Codes > System Codes
Search for and select the category of the system code.
3. After checking that the code you are about to add does not already exist, click Create.
A new screen will appear.
4. Complete the required fields. Below is a description of each field:
Field | Description |
Key | The code you wish to use |
Value | The description of the code. This will display on screens for users. |
Region | Locks the code to a specific region |
School | Locks the code to a specific school within the region |
Campus | Locks the code to a specific campus within the school |
The region, school, and campus fields will generally only be applicable to tenants with multiple regions, schools or campuses.
5. Click the tick.
To edit an existing code:
Access the existing codes as per above.
Click the pencil icon on the relevant code.
Make the required changes.
Click Save.
The key (code) of a system code is locked and cannot be edited.
To deactivate an existing code:
1. Access the existing codes as per above.
2. Click the deactivate icon on the relevant code.
Deactivating a system code will leave it in place wherever it already exists, to maintain the integrity of the existing data, but will prevent it being added anywhere else.
3. To view deactivated codes, click Show Inactive.
To reactivate a deactivated code:
Access the existing codes as per above.
Click the reactivate icon on the relevant code.
