Uploading Student Data
In this page, we'll look at the steps that you need to take to upload your student information into SSO.
Go to: Checklist > (Year Level) > Students
Locate the file upload tool, drag and drop the saved spreadsheet into this area.
Follow the instructions as prompted.
If the file has the required fields, you will briefly see a watermarked tick, which will disappear.
The data will be sitting in an untitled table until you choose what you want to do with the data. There will be two options you can select from:
Add new students, and update existing student information (based on StudentCode)
This option is best if you are uploading for selections for the first time, or you are updating the student information you have in the system. SSO will use the student code as the static value, and update all of the fields in SSO with what is in the spreadsheet. If a code doesn't already exist in SSO, it will create a new entry for it.Purge all existing student data (including Results), and replace it with the data in the spreadsheet
This option is best if you've made an error with the students and want to start from scratch. Use this option carefully - it will wipe any information associated with students as well, such as results, overrides, recommendations and selections. Don't use this option if you are replacing students from a previous year with the current ones - you should use the Archive option instead.
This option is best if you’ve made an error with Student data, and you want to dump the existing Student Data you already have in place.
Remember with this option that anything in SSO that you have associated with the Student Code codes will be purged, (including Student Selections, Results, Override Data etc.), so only choose the Purge option if you wish to delete all Student related data.
Select Save to complete the process.
Once you have, the untitled table of data will be gone, and new/updated data you've just uploaded will be moved into the table called Existing Students.
Please note that any re-loaded ParentPIN data (even if unchanged) will drop any existing validated ParentPIN records out of the selection process.
