Minimums, Maximums, and Weighting Rules
Rules to control minimum and maximum selections counts (and weightings) can be set for all areas of a process or restricted to a specific area/s.
As a general rule always seeing to set your minimum/maximum/weightings at the lowest possible level e.g., set at Instruction level only rather than Section, or Instruction & Section.
Minimums and Maximum and Weightings
Set number of selections
Counts each selection equally and is the one most often used. If you need students to make a specific number of choices, this is what you'll use.
Set weighting count
This is where you have assigned a number of units to Selections, in the Selection Matrix. This option will be used where certain selections are worth a different value that others and will count based on the number of 'units' that have been selected.
And in case you were wondering, yes, they work in conjunction with each other if required, as well as any other rules (global or otherwise) that you have set up in your selection process. Pretty nifty.
Choosing the right place for Minimums and Maximum and Weightings
When applying minimums and maximums of Selections to a Section or Instruction, it means that any of the Selections within the defined area will count towards those settings.
